If you have children, then you know how important it is to find the right tv shows for children. But parents have different views on just what children should watch. While some parents don’t have a problem letting their children watch shows that aren’t educational, other parents prefer that their children only watch educational shows.
We now realize just how important it is for children to get an early start on their education. Fortunately, there are many television programs that provide chances for children to learn. With so many channels available these days, educational shows for children can be found at almost any hour a child should be up. But is that all that a child should watch? Although educational tv shows for children can also be fun, shouldn’t we allow kids to be kids once in awhile?
When it comes to mindless, funny antics, there are plenty of tv shows for children on the air. Programming such as the TMNT movie and cartoon is great for parents that don’t mind some mild action for their children. But on the otherhand some of these shows contain things that some parents find offensive. Complaints of violence in children’s television shows is not uncommon. Are the complaints warranted? That is a matter of debate that has gone on since the early days of television. What we do know is that we have a rating system in place that lets parents know what ages the television shows are deemed appropriate for. If a parent doesn’t want his or her child to watch a certain show, the parent could easily block the channel from being viewed.
There are many tv shows for children currently on the air; deciding what children view is still ultimately up to the parents. Parents should take the time to watch what their children are watching. Unfortunately, there are some parents who use the television as a babysitter and don’t keep up with what their kids are viewing.
